Steven Wright, who attended the Graham Greene Festival a couple of months ago, visited Venice recently and tracked down the church of Santa Maria dei Miracoli (St Mary of the Miracles) upon which the Berkhamsted School chapel is based. Steve comments: ‘As soon as I walked in, the similarity to the school chapel was obvious. The outside is completely different however. There is some very striking marble panelling and a decorated ceiling, neither of which we have in Berkhamsted unfortunately!’
