Trains

There are up to four London Northwestern Railway trains an hour to Berkhamsted from London Euston (journey time about 30 – 40 minutes), and from Milton Keynes (journey time about 25 – 30 minutes). Leave the station through the booking hall and turn left for Berkhamsted School (3 minutes’ walk, see map) or turn right for the Town Hall (5 minutes’ walk, see map).

Access by Car

Berkhamsted is about 6 miles from junction 8 on the M1, and about 8 miles from junction 20 on the M25. There is limited parking at Berkhamsted School, Castle Street, and at the rear of the Town Hall, High Street. There is also a car park adjacent to Waitrose Supermarket which can be accessed via Lower King’s Road.

Restaurants and Pubs

There is a good choice of restaurants and pubs serving food within easy walking distance of the School and the Town Hall.

Venues used for the Festival

The Town Hall and the Civic Centre  accommodate the events which take place on the Thursday and Friday of the Festival, apart from the guided walks which usually gather initially at the Court House or Railway Station (see map). The Saturday and Sunday events are accommodated in various buildings within Berkhamsted School in Castle Street.
