If you are a collector of Graham Greene’s books you will be interested to read about the collection of Friend of the Trust David Hawksworth who lives in Germany. Interestingly, when you read David’s beautifully illustrated account (which can be accessed by clicking the link below) you will find that he remembers where and sometimes when he purchased individual items and he occasionally divulges how much he has paid for them.
Graham Greene novels, particularly the First Edition rare ones published before World War II, still command astronomically high prices comparable with his contemporary Ian Fleming and modern day authors such as J.K Rowling. But David shows that, with judicious searching, you can amass a fine collection reasonably cheaply although, beware, temptation in the form of a friendly bookshop or the dreaded Ebay is never far away!
