Graham Greene
Unfortunately, due to the upcoming rail strike on Saturday 30 September, Charlotte Philby will be unable to attend. However, we are very pleased that a familiar face, Mike Hill, has stepped into the breech. He will be giving a talk entitled: ‘I regret Graham Greene never got the prize.’ (Anders Österling, 1980).
As many will be aware Mike’s subject refers to that fact that Greene was, perhaps unaccountably, overlooked for the Nobel Prize for literature. But, there is more to the story than that …
