The 23rd Graham Greene International Festival will take place from 29 September to 2 October 2022 at its traditional home in Berkhamsted. The Graham Greene Birthplace Trust has commissioned a new Festival Director this year, Dr. Christopher Hull of the University of Chester. Chris has put together a really exciting programme of events which, amazingly, considering the longevity of this four day festival, brings to the fore new angles on the life and work of this famous twentieth century writer from his little-known plays, to comparisons with Greene’s contemporary Ian Fleming to a contemplation of the author in the cyber age.
The full programme is set out on the Festival 2022 page of the website. Tickets for the event can also be purchased online by turning to the ‘Basket’ page. If you are a Friend of the Trust you will be able to obtain a discount on tickets. Purchase of a season ticket will also attract a discount and if you are under 21 you will be able to attend all festival events free of charge. But please note that meals for all attendees are charged separately.
Friends of the Trust will have received a festival leaflet with their August edition of the newsletter. Please note that the programme on the Festival page does not include any additional information about the talks, interviews, films, tours and speakers at this stage but more details may become available over the coming weeks.
If you are a regular festival-goer or are thinking of coming to Berkhamsted for the first time, you will be assured of a warm welcome. The Graham Greene International Festival is renowned for its sociable atmosphere with attendees drawn from both home and abroad by their regard and affection for this remarkable author.
