To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the making of The Third Man, Austrian historian Brigitte Timmermann, a long-standing friend of the Graham Greene Birthplace Trust, has designed a new four-day trip to the city indelibly linked to Greene’s iconic masterpiece. It will take you back into the troubled times of Greene’s Vienna but also allow you to enjoy the cultural delights of the vibrant city of today. Highlights will be tours of the places associated with Greene’s numerous stays, iconic film locations including the Prater Wheel and the main sewer, and the unique Third Man Museum. An illustrated talk on post-war Vienna, a drinks reception, zither music and an informal evening at a traditional Viennese wine-tavern will complement the programme.
