Those of you who attended the 2024 Graham Greene International Festival will remember what a privilege it was to listen to Lo Dagerman, the daughter of Anita Björk, speaking so eloquently about Anita’s relationship with Graham Greene in the late-1950s as well as Anita’s wider family relationships. Graham became involved with Anita, a rising star of film and stage, at a time when his long-standing affair with Catherine Walston was waning. After parting, Anita and Graham retained a warm and caring regard for each other and maintained a correspondence right up until Graham’s death in 1991. Now, Lo has expanded her festival talk with never-before-seen material from Anita’s personal archive and has written a beautiful essay for us which can be find in our Research Articles area – or else by simply following this link.
Many thanks to Lo for her moving and sensitive reminiscences and we hope to see her again at a future festival.
Kevin Ruane.
